Weekly Challenge #13: Inspiration Challenge

Design inspiration is all around us . . . all we need to do is open our eyes and look at things in a new way. This week we challenge you to create something based on our inspiration piece, a lovely piece of artwork by Laura Amiss. What strikes you about it? The colors? The subject? The lines and movement? Whatever it is, we want you to incorporate that element into your project. We can’t wait to see what you come up with

THRIFT STORE FIND CONTEST

Find something from the thrift store to repurpose with your imagination and your Cricut Machine. Please use at least four Cricut cuts in your design. Upload before and after shots of your project to the blog under the Magazine Challenge Tab. Only one entry per person. Entry deadline is Friday, January 14th, 2011.

I found this coat rack/picture frames at the second hand store.

It was only $5.00. which I didn't think was bad.

I have need a coat rack for kids to put their coats.

I used Ashlyn's Alphabet and the UROCK tool for this.

That was the frist time I have used my UROCK tool and it was fun.

This is what I used the UROCK tool on.

You can't really see them but they are on there.

I can't wait to hang it up in the frontroom for the kids to use.

Weekly Challenge #12: Nine Ladies Dancing Challenge

For the Nine Ladies Dancing Challenge we want you to strut your stuff with your Cricut Circle Exclusive “Shall We Dance?” cartridge. You can create any kind of project you would like . . . but here is the twist . . . there needs to be NINE of SOMETHING on your project. Nine of anything! Nine buttons, nine flowers, exactly nine letters in a title, etc. Just as long as their is nine of something. Have fun!

Well this is what I came up with.
Sence I don't have and girls! ANd I'am preganet with my fourth child and we don't know what it is. ANd we are not going to find out what it is tell it gets here in March 2011. I thought that I would make a girly page in HOPES of a little girl.

The cartridge that I used where George and Basic shapes, Ashlyn's alphabet and the Shall we dance.

I used nine little Dark pink gem on the crown. For the Nine items that we needed to use!.

I hope that you like what I have made it was alot of fun.

SNOW DAY!

Well it true there is No school for my boys today in Utah. man I wish we got school out when I have younger. This was just another day for us. Well at least they can go outside and injoy the snow.
Here are a few pics I took of the snow that is stilling coming down. I LOVE THE SNOW! This also give me time to work on thing around the house. Like gifts fro friends . Oh yes i get to work on those Cricut challenges and there is three that i need to work on. They are.

The theme for this month’s challenge is geared towards helping you cross off one of the names on your holiday gift list! Please create a Holiday Gift Item. Project must be newly created for this challenge and should include the following elements to qualify: use a tag made with a cartridge (there are so many great tags on so many cartridges), use the color red somewhere, use ribbon, and use the Phrase Feature from one of the cartridges

Weekly Challenge #10: Holiday Recipe Challenge

So this week we want you to create a project that is about, includes, or holds a holiday recipe. This could be a scrapbook page, a mini album, a recipe box or book, a Gift for a Neighbor . . . the sky’s the limit. But we want to see you pay tribute to a holiday recipe in some way.
Here is what I came up with for this weekly challenge #10.

I had a album sitting around my scrapbook room. So I took it and turn in to a christmas treat recpie holder. This was the every first time I have ever cut fabric with my cricut. It is just as fun as paper if not more. I use ever ppd for the front of the cover. I cut Santa and miss out at 4 and the tree out at 5in. I found these cute little present button and glues them on.

For the pages inside. I stuck with the christmas theme. Each pages will hold a recpie .

The book will hold 20 pages.

I hope you injoyed looking at my book! It was a ton of fun making.

Weekly Challenge #9: Black Friday Challenge!

Alright . . . so who’s out shopping this morning?! Me? I have never been brave enough to face the Black Friday crowds. However, we thought it would be fun to give our Weekly Challenge a “Black Friday” twist! Here’s what we want you to do this week . . . Include the color black in your project AND recycle or repurpose something.

I bought this block at the Second Hand Store for $2.00.

I love to buy things there to repurpose.

It is SOOO cheap to buy things.

And you never know what you are going to find.

This is what I came up with.

The ribbon came off a gift basket I got sometime ago.

The cricut cuts are from George and Basice shapes for the moon. the Santa and his Reindeer came from Christmas Noel. I think it turn out quit nice. It is plug in my Kitchen right know. I thing that is where it will stay for the Holiday.

What’s old is new again . . . Vintage Elements are so HOT right now in everything from fashion to home decor, and even right down to our crafting supplies! For this week’s challenge we would like you to use the sketch provided below and create a project with a vintage feeling. We will be watching for soft, muted colors, silhouette images, aged metals, lace trim, doilies, ephemera, fabric, vintage buttons, etc. Please include a minimum of three Vintage Elements on your project.
